Hotel is really beautiful and an oasis of calm in crazy (but cool) Oaxaca. The pool was delightful and all staff lovely. We had dinner in the hotel one night and the food was really good. We had breakfast one morning which was good too (except the coffee was awful - go to Boulenc bakery for great coffee instead) and accompanied by live music which was a treat. The location is great for strolling around the town and we even got to spy ona guelaguetza performance in the hall attached to the hotel. The car valet service was useful (but expensive).

The hotel is in a 500 year old complex of buildings that has been completely restored to serve as a modern hotel. Besides being a very beautiful facility, the staff were absolutely amazing. Each concierge we worked with was extremely professional and capable. They went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Restaurant and housekeeping staff were also very attentive to our needs. There is honestly not much about this hotel that I would want to change. Two thumbs up!

The food is also great; we ate breakfast and lunch there and were not disappointed. Additionally, the hotel let us store our bags there overnight while we spent a night in the mountains, which was extremely convenient and appreciated. We both slept the soundest there out of any of the places we stayed in Mexico, and they gave us turn-down service (including chocolate)!

The property is absolutely gorgeous, carefully restored with attention to detail and comfort while retaining its history. The room was comfortable and well-appointed with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was spacious and quite charming. Excellent towels and sheets. Oh, and the pool is fabulous!
